These terms apply to your use of limitpad.com (“limitpad”, “we”, “us”). By using the site, you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the site.

1. The service

limitpad is a free tool for counting words, characters and other text statistics and for checking text against length limits. It runs in your browser, and no account is needed.

2. Counts and limits are a guide

We work hard to make counts accurate and to keep preset limits up to date, but:

• Different tools count words and characters in different ways, and an official application portal, form or platform may count differently from limitpad.
• Platforms, schools and organizations change their limits, sometimes without notice.

Always confirm your text meets the requirements on the official form or platform before you submit it. You’re responsible for what you submit. We aren’t responsible for any rejected, truncated or penalized submission.

3. Your text belongs to you

You keep all rights to any text you type or paste into limitpad. Your text is processed on your device, and we don’t receive, store or claim any rights to it. See our Privacy Policy for details.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• interfere with or disrupt the site, its hosting or its security;
• use automated tools to scrape the site or send excessive traffic;
• copy, resell or republish the site or its content as your own service;
• use the site for anything unlawful.

5. Our content

The limitpad name, logo, design, code and written content (such as preset guides) belong to limitpad.com and are protected by copyright and other laws. You may link to any page and share it freely. You may not copy substantial parts of the site without permission.

6. Advertising and third-party links

The site may show advertising and link to other websites, such as official sources for preset limits. We aren’t responsible for third-party sites or ads, or for their content, products or privacy practices.

7. No warranty

limitpad is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We don’t guarantee that the site will always be available, error-free or secure.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, limitpad.com and its operator won’t be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, opportunity or profits, arising from your use of, or inability to use, the site. This includes any loss resulting from inaccurate counts or outdated limits. Because the service is free, our total liability for any claim relating to the site won’t exceed US $50.

9. Changes

We may update the site or these terms at any time. When we change the terms, we’ll update the “Last updated” date. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Pennsylvania, and you agree to their jurisdiction.
