How limitpad counts
Words are separated by spaces. Hyphenated words count as one by default. Check the count in the application portal before submitting, since portals can count slightly differently.
Tips
- Answer the exact question asked. Short essays leave no room for warm-up sentences.
- For “why this college” prompts, name specific programs, classes or people.
Frequently asked questions
- Can I go slightly over a supplemental word limit?
- Most portals block text over the limit, and readers notice. Stay at or under it.
